In the winter keeping small dogs warm can be a challenge. Here’s a few tips to make it easier:
- Keep your small dog in shoes when outside to protect their paws from salt and ice
- Close up any drafts in your house but especially where your pet sleeps
- Use blankets with fleece or down filling to will provide extra-warmth (on bed/couch/etc.)
- Fleece sweaters or jackets are also key to keeping body temperatures up
- Don’t over bathe or over shave your pet it can lead to dry irritated skin
